Due to its special chemical characteristics, the solid Lithium-Polymer Accumulator reaches the highest density of energy (up to 180Wh/kg - as per April 2005) compared to all other types of rechargeable batteries known. The LiPo accumulator is an advanced further development of Lithium-Ion technology.
Because of its foil-like layer structure, the outer shape can be fairly freely adjusted to the space available.
The increase in storage capacity achievable as a consequence is indispensable for many applications, since more and more features of devices tend to consume more current even in standby mode. For these, we're offering LiPo accumulator solutions according to the capacity needs. LiPo accumulators are electrically and thermally more sensitive against mishandling.
Things as overcharging, over-discharging, too high current, operation at too high (> 60°C) or too low (< 0°C) temperatures or storage when discharged can usually damage or destroy the cell. In order to protect the cell, there is an add-on security circuit, which monitors the related battery data and will disconnect the circuit if necessary.

Please note, that in case of the use of the add-on security circuit, the total length of the battery cell will increase approximately about 2mm.
